Friday Chatter: I Found Mums!

August 28, 2020

Do you know what's made this Friday extra special? I found mums and I gave the Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew a try for the first time - it was delicious. Both make for complete happiness. Greer and I planted the mums this afternoon, and she was a doll. I'll share more on that next week. But for now, please send me some green thumb vibes, friends - I'm not the best at keeping mums alive, but I'm determined for a different outcome this season. And I'm really excited for a fall front porch with these beauts. The only thing left to find is ornamental cabbage, my absolute favorite this time of year. And of course, pumpkins, but that goes without saying.

All of that to say, I cannot get over the fact that this is the last weekend of August. Holy smokes, has this year been the fastest, slowest year ever?! September is like the start of a new year for me, and I'm ready for the refresh it brings. For the traditions, a new season, the hope of the holidays, and the warm and fuzzies. Even if you're a summer-loving-fanatic, I hope you are able to find some excitement in the impending season change and the goodness it will hold if you set your mind to making it magical!

Now how about some finds from the week??

  • I just painted my toes - and have high hopes to get the time to paint my nails tonight - this pretty color. It's one of my favorite polishes for fall!
  • These Mary Jane Shoes are on their way to me, and I hope I love them on my feet as much as I love them online!
  • I'm making a hot pumpkin apple cider for this weekend, and I think I'm going to try out this recipe. I'll let you know how it turns out!
  • I'm already prepping for Halloween. Why? Because when I have a spare moment, I like to think ahead so that it doesn't end up sneaking up on me. I ordered four large spiders and a giant web to make the exterior of our house extra festive this year. Because why not a little more festivity to bring some joy in this absolute nutty year?!
  • Also, these ghost jams for the kiddos' Halloween baskets that they'll get at the start of October!

Now I'm off to put together my grocery pick-up list while watching Gilmore Girls and eating ice cream! Happy weekending!
