Planting Fall Mums

August 31, 2020

Planting mums to bring a fresh fall feel to my front porch and flower boxes. It's even better when I have the helping hands and complete joy of my oldest to get the job done!

Don't mums just scream fall?? With September literally hours away, I am full on fall mode. The autumn décor is out, the pantry is stocked with pumpkin puree, hot cider has been made, and now the mums have been planted. It brought me considerable happiness to find quart-size mums last Friday, and then to find even bigger mums + ornament cabbage/kale at a local nursery was icing on the cake.

Greer was equally as thrilled as her mama to plant our new flowers, and she eagerly put on her gardening gloves to assist. I really love that she and I share an adoration for this season and everything it brings. Being able to find one-on-one time with her, doing something we both love, is extra special the older she gets and the more capable she becomes.

Our planters and flower boxes are now boasting the colors and aesthetics of fall. And truly, it couldn't be better! Now for a whole lot of photos because the flowers (and my girl) are too pretty not to share!

How darling is Greer's bow?! We get a monthly subscription of bows that are made with the season/holidays in mind. They make the best collection of bows, and this month's was my favorite! Order now for the October bows.
