When I Get Bored I...

...BAKE.

It's probably not the best thing to do when boredom strikes for the mere fact that the kitchen fills up with sweet confections and then Pete is stuck eating them all. Even though I kind of doubt he minds. So this afternoon I went with a classic, chocolate chip cookies. But, I decided to put a twist on the original recipe and go with some of my own quirky ideas. Here's the recipe, let me know what you think!

Bored Cookies a.k.a. Chocolate Chip Cookies with a Twist:
  • What You'll Need
    • 1 stick butter (mine was salted)
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1 TBSP maple syrup
    • 1 TSP vanilla extract
    • 1 egg
    • 1 1/4 cup cake flour
    • 1/2 TSP baking soda
    • 1/4 TSP salt
    • 2/3 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
  • What You'll Do
    • Preheat the oven to 375°
    • Combine softened butter, sugar, maple syrup, vanilla extract, & egg. Blend them until fluffy and smooth.
    • Add the cake flour, baking soda, & salt. I just put them straight in the bowl with the wet mixture. Blend well, then stir in the chocolate chips.
    • Bake for approx.. 7 minutes
    • Pour a glass of cold milk, dunk, & gobble up!
