Our three-day weekend was nothing short of packed and lovely. From Good Friday through Resurrection Sunday, we enjoyed family time, church time, bunny ears, lots of Easter eggs, and the beautiful spring weather. It's always the biggest treat to get an extra day added on to our weekend, and this past holiday trio of days didn't disappoint!
We used most of Friday to finish the wallpaper in Greer's room, followed by our dinner-out + Good Friday church service tradition with my BIL, SIL, and their littles. We started doing this three years ago, and it's a joy share with one another as our family keeps growing. Next year we'll be adding another little babe to this family tradition when they welcome their third child this fall! Somehow, we never manage to get a group photo of all of us on Good Friday, but here are some from our Saturday and Sunday Easter weekend festivities.
Our Saturday was slower with a trip to Mountain Lake early afternoon. We strolled the grounds and visited with the Easter Bunny. I was completely shocked with how enamored Greer was with the bunny. After being very weary of Santa, I figured she wouldn't want to get too close to a giant bunny. But, this girl was ALL about the bunny. In fact, she visited with him three different times and waved every chance she got.
Don't be fooled, this girl loved the bunny. Her face is probably just because mama was holding her and not the Easter Bunny ;)
Looking back at our first Easter photo from the Mountain Lake festivities last year gives me all the feels. My baby is SO big! Where does time go, y'all??

Back at home, we dyed Easter eggs with our sweet little bunny. Nelle gave us this toddler-friendly inspiration, which was a huge hit with our little!
We used a tub of whip cream, divided into four dollops. In each dollop we added some dye, and added them to a throw-away aluminum pan. After boiling the eggs and soaking them in white vinegar for 10 minutes, we let Greer go with them. She was hesitant at first, but eventually got into it and loved it!
Easter morning came with the crisp, yellow light of the early sunrise. Little bit wasn't sure what to expect, but was so surprised to see a basket full of goodies waiting for her. After sorting through her new treats, we gathered around our kitchen table for a traditional breakfast that I've eaten every, single Easter. There's hard boiled eggs (with apple cider vinegar for dipping; thanks Grandmom!) and cream of wheat always. We added toast and bacon to make it our own. Breakfast was followed by church and an afternoon with my mom and sister over a meal, sidewalk-chalk-coloring, and Easter-egg-hunting.
This girl melts me over and over again. She gives the holidays and family traditions so much more meaning. Greer is a doll, and I love her zeal for everything. We are so very blessed to call her ours.
These corn fritters are the easiest and tastiest appetizers! They take no time at all to make, and are the perfect treat to tide you over until the meal is served!
The Sidda (my mom) Bunny brought Greer a basket too, which just thrilled this girl of ours. Every Easter growing up, my sister and I had a Disney movie (VHS, mind you!) in our baskets. My mom got Greer started on her own Disney movie collection this year.
After a quick stop to fix her new kicks, we headed to the backyard to enjoy an Easter egg hunt. I'm so amazed at how quickly she picks up on things, specifically activities. Greer knew exactly what to do, and scoured all over to collect each egg with total delight!
Our Easter was so wonderful. And I hope yours was too! We find so much joy today, tomorrow, and yesterday for the hope we have in the cross. What good, good news that He is Risen!
