Christmas Home Tour 2022

December 22, 2022

A Christmas home tour to share our decked the halls!

Can you believe we're only THREE days away from Christmas?! I surely cannot!  So with the time left leading up to such a joyful and festive day, we are soaking up all of the pine, garland, pops of red, and twinkle lights. There are family get togethers to be held; sugar cookies to bake and ice; fires to roar as smoke puffs from chimney tops; and Christmas movies to watch. Amidst all of the want-to-dos, I'm trying my best to be slow and intentional the closer we inch toward the 25th.

With our home being the center of our family life, I strive to create a space that is cozy and festive. I love decorating for the holidays, giving these moments in December a beautiful backdrop. The 'feel' of Christmas is something that I have carried with me from childhood, and I cherish the thought that my children will carry it on and build upon it as they start families of their own. I find such value in traditions, and the way in which they tell a story. It's the gift of nostalgia that I hope to pass down to my one-day-grown children.

As I decorate for the holiday season, I think about the memories I hold dear of Christmases past. And in some instances, those memories are tied to tangible objects, like ornaments or décor pieces of which I have inherited from my most loved people. As I spruce our home, I reminisce, and it makes me wonder what Christmas decoration(s) will hold special memories for my children.

As you (virtually) tour our home, I hope you feel a touch of magic that lives on in this season - sometimes it takes just being still to sense it. No matter the circumstances of life, there is magic and hope to behold, it is found in the reason we celebrate - the birth of our Savior who came to save the world...

"His law is love and His gospel is peace."

May you feel wrapped up in love this holiday season and as a new year dawns. I will see you all back here on the blog in January! Merry Christmas and Happy New, friends!
