Easter Sunday 2022

April 18, 2022

Easter weekend 2022 with friends and family.

What a good Easter weekend we had! Our family enjoyed Good Friday with a potluck meal in our backyard with our friends. You have never seen little ones more excited for an Easter egg hunt or picking little treats from a family-friendly charcuterie board. I loved every minute of it and feel so lucky we get to do life with friends that feel like family.

Saturday we started with donuts and then soaked up the sunshine and warm weather all day long. It was glorious, especially compared today's weather - 36° with sleet and some snow. Quite a juxtaposition to the sunburn I landed myself yesterday afternoon.

Sunday greeted us with Easter baskets, chocolate croissants, and a scuttle of readying for church. While every Sunday at church is wonderful, there is something truly magical about a sanctuary full of people rejoicing in our risen Savior. It is its own kind of wonder and power. And while on that note, I can't advocate enough for finding a church that teaches the Bible while also making you feel like family. It's life-giving in every way. Like the way my children have completely soaked up what they're learning in Sunday school. And how that message was so clearly translated in Greer's prayer to accept Christ as her personal Savior. Not only am I so proud of her decision, but I was completely blown away by the words she was saying from her heart. p.s. Beaver, if you're reading this, she has requested confetti for her baptism when she's ready :)

We rounded out of Easter Sunday with outside time, pulled pork bowls, lemonade, and peach cobbler. It was simple and lovely - just the way to relish in Jesus's love for us through His ultimate sacrifice and resurrection. I hope your Sunday felt just as special!

The two of us ended the weekend chasing Abbott, our cat, around our yard and the neighbor's in the dark of night. That little stinker slipped right out the back door and helped us run off all the food we consumed during the day. You just never know what surprises will come your way!
